TRW’s Seat Belt Retractors offer a wide variety of options to enhance occupant safety. TRW produces among the world’s most advanced designs including its latest 4.0 retractor family. These retractors have advanced features including varying options of load limiting, pretensioning and even pre-crash pretensioning in the case of TRW’s Active Control Retractor (ACR).   Figure 1 TRW’s ACR unit takes the slack off the seatbelt moving the passenger into a  safer crash position.   Figure 2 During the collision or rollover, the ACR unit remains activated, keeping the passenger in a safe position.
