Core Design Means Flexibility TRW Automotives headlamp switch utilizes a core switch cell design, with up to five rotary positions and one pull position. All functions are entirely self-contained within a common modular switch cell design.  In addition to offering standard off, headlamp and parking light positions, the rotary switch has two variable positions that can be configured for additional functionality such as auto lamp and auxiliary park lamp circuits. The core design of the headlamp switch eliminates expensive validation testing, allowing for rapid re-configuration with minimal tooling and the flexibility of high and low current switch cell configurations.  For high current applications, TRW offers a unique, pulse-width modulated dimmer providing increased durability. Short circuit and over-current protection eliminates heat buildup, offering a safe and reliable customer interface.  A low current variation is also available as a direct input to an existing LCM. For added styling flexibility, the switch’s external bezel can be modified to accommodate different shape and color requirements with out affecting the electrical integrity of the core switch cell design.   Surface graphics can be laser-etched or pad-printed for enhanced clarity and longevity. The switch is backlit with individual LED’s for added styling flexibility and reliability in a variety of colors.
